A JOURNEY FROM THE SKIES TO HEALTH COACHING
I’m Verity and I specialize in showing Frequent Flyers and Cabin Crew how to renew energy, reset weight and restore life balance.
I am originally from beautiful New Zealand and have lived in many countries including Australia, Bahrain, U.A.E. and the United Kingdom. After spending an amazing 15 years in Dubai, I am now based in London with my Finnish entrepreneur husband and our mini Yorkshire Terrier fur-baby, Mochi.
Ever since I was young, I wanted to travel. The plan was to become a Flight Attendant, just for a few years so I could see the world. Isn’t that what all Cabin Crew say? With now over 15 years’ experience, I have worked with three commercial airlines (Gulf Air, Virgin Australia & Emirates) and within private aviation for two high profile families (including a Middle Eastern Royal Family) on their personal private jets. So much for just a couple of years, right?!
The lifestyle and career of being a Flight Attendant can be addictive, fun and rewarding! You get the opportunity to create incredible memories and have amazing experiences. And once you are part of the Cabin Crew community, it’s like you are part of a global family you didn’t know you had before. There are many highs but also there can be many lows, including struggling with health issues, due to shift working hours, fatigue, jet-lag, lack of sleep, eating the wrong foods and simply not knowing how to balance your life in a healthy way.
I haven’t always been healthy myself – it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease (Ulcerative Colitis), during my early flying career that I took a step back and re-evaluated my health and lifestyle choices. This was a wake-up call and made me take an intense interest in developing a healthier way of living while balancing a flying career.
I decided that I didn’t want to rely on pharmaceutical medication and struggle with side effects for the rest of my life but instead I chose to manage it myself by researching and creating a healthy balanced lifestyle that worked for me. After healing myself, I decided to take it one step further and in 2014 became a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
And I love that I can combine being a Health Coach with my experience as a Flight Attendant to help other former & current Cabin Crew and frequent travellers reach their healthy lifestyle goals.
Thanks for reading, have a beautiful day and I look forward to connecting with you!
