During my last trip to London, I visited one of London’s favourite raw food spots called Tanya’s. This wonderful plant based restaurant is the creation of raw food expert Tanya Maher. I decided on visiting mid morning, after the early morning breakfast rush and before the raw foodies visit for their healthy lunch. Being a quite time to visit, I was able to chat to the Manager, the lovely Ulrike and enjoy a wonderful breakfast.
The Bircher With Nut Milk is made with oats, dried fruits and seeds. And as the name suggests it is created with their own freshly made Almond Milk. It is complemented well with crunchy slices of green apple and a good dash of cinnamon.
The ‘toast’ is not toasted at all. It is actually dehydrated to resemble toast. The Un-Toast was served with perfectly ripened avocado sprinkled with chilli flakes. And if you didn’t have enough avocado, there is also a side of creamy avocado with bean sprouts! The portion does not look big but is actually very filling.
There is a great selection of cold press juices, dairy free smoothies and hot drinks. I enjoyed one of the best Chai Tea Latte’s ever! They create their own fresh almond butter in house, adding chai spices and date paste to sweeten. Hot water is then added. The result is a super creamy Chai! Perfect and delicious in every way!
I cannot wait to try the main menu on my next visit to London, where I can also try a cheeky superfood cocktail. Yes, you heard me right! Superfood cocktails are served from 4pm until 10pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
I also picked up a copy of Tanya’s ‘The Uncook Book’ while I was there and will do a review on it soon once I make it home to try out the recipes. I had a quick look and there are some delicious recipes inside!
